What purposes do tax deductible donations to MERCL (CIPAC’s educational arm and tax exempt organization) serve?

A:

This reflects the other side of the coin. Many wish to contribute to MERCL when they make contributions in addition to their basic CIPAC membership dues, because with MERCL, unlike CIPAC, they receive a tax deduction to the extent permitted by the IRS and states for contribution to 501(c)(3) tax deductible educational and charitable organizations. Therefore through MERCL we have the potential to build up a war chest for research, studies, travel to Israel, assistance to vital projects in Israel and much more. As MERCL expands to meet the goals in its growth strategy, it will require not just tax deductible donations from individuals, but also funding from foundations, corporations, and even grants and contracts with the federal government or other organizations
